Diplomatico is the par excellence Venezuelan ron. The Single Vintage range represents the best year expression of the distillery production. Made in the traditional copper stills, this cuvée spent twelve years in a combination of bourbon and single malt whisky casks before being finished for another year in sherry butts and getting bottled at 43% ABV.
It releases aromas of chestnut honey, caramel, and cocoa, along with red fruit and spices. Wood, raisins, and caramel, with spicy nuances on the palate. The finish reveals precious woods and spices.
94Among the rum tested during the year in blind tastings and reviews, those who scored the best were selected. These products were then tested once again in a new blind tasting, which means not knowing what they are during the tasting. The only indication on the sample concerns the ABV content: a red mark states that the product has an ABV higher than 50% (100° proof). The test results are then compared, and the TOP 10 is made.
