It is made from sugar cane plantations in Moorea, where the O’Tahiti variety grows. The freshly hand-cut sugar cane is crushed on the plantation the same day before being fermented. Since 2018 Manutea Tahiti has been committed to sustainable development.
It develops sugar cane scents, together with cotton candy and a mix of mints, star anise, and a touch of cinnamon and chicory. The palate is about licorice aroma notes, sugar cane, Sichuan pepper, and balsamic herbs. The finish is medium, with sugarcane, licorice, and anise. Smooth and balanced, it boasts a broad flavor profile.
91Among the rums tested in blind tastings and reviews throughout the year, those scoring the best get reselected. These products were then tried once again in a new blind tasting, which means not knowing what they are during the tasting. The only indication on the sample concerns the ABV content: a red mark states that the product has an ABV higher than 50% (100° proof). The test results are then compared, and the TOP 10 is made.
