Blend of single malt and grain whiskies made at Fuji Gotemba distillery, it has been released in 2023. The mash is said to include barley from Scotland, rye from Canada and corn from the US.
The opening is mellow and velvety, classy, yet intense despite the ABV. Coconut and creamy vanilla with minor peaches and some menthol herbal hints. The corn component is very contained. There is a light varnish hint, yet minor and integrated, to which a rose water freshness is added. Some richness is provided on the palate. The toffee core is helped by side notes of balsamic herbs and sweet-sour spices.
91Among the whiskies tested in blind tastings and reviews throughout the year, those scoring the best get reselected. These products were then tried once again in a new blind tasting, which means not knowing what they are during the tasting. The only indication on the sample concerns the ABV content: a red mark states that the product has an ABV higher than 50% (100° proof). The test results are then compared, and the TOP 10 is made.</p
