The fourth release of the cask strength series that started in 2020 and features a more complex array of casks.
The Orkney DNA can be immediately perceived in the nose, with gentle candle smoke on top of heather honey, fragrant and pleasant. Flowery, despite a remarkable intensity, it further develops a sophisticated and inviting mineral touch. The palate is more robust, with fatty ham, mineral peat, chestnut honey, and salty German butter. Not too sweet, with some barley malt and a nice complexity around the core of strawberry jam.
92Among the whiskies tested in blind tastings and reviews throughout the year, those scoring the best get reselected. These products were then tried once again in a new blind tasting, which means not knowing what they are during the tasting. The only indication on the sample concerns the ABV content: a red mark states that the product has an ABV higher than 50% (100° proof). The test results are then compared, and the TOP 10 is made.</p
