ARRAN BARREL BONFIRE

#3 – ARRAN BARREL BONFIRE

COUNTRY: Scotland
ABV (PROOF): 50% (100)
PRICE: $ 120 | € 85
TYPE: Single Malt

Second of planned four releases in the Signature Series, a selection of Arran Single Malts showcasing the diversity of Arran’s spirit chosen by Lochranza Distillery Manager Stewart Bowman. Peat level is 42ppm.

Delightful balance between sophisticated sweetness of vanilla, crème brûlée, custard, butter biscuits, and an intense, dry, quenched fire peat, cold and flavorful. Distant floral hint, minor citrus additions and nutty dryness. Peat is more peppery on the palate, intense and toasted, yet flavorful and balanced, with cold bonfires, charred lemons, herbs, lemon citrus, and toasted oak.

HOW ARE THE AWARDS MADE

Among the whiskies tested in blind tastings and reviews throughout the year, those scoring the best get reselected. These products were then tried once again in a new blind tasting, which means not knowing what they are during the tasting. The only indication on the sample concerns the ABV content: a red mark states that the product has an ABV higher than 50% (100° proof). The test results are then compared, and the TOP 10 is made.</p
