The Lux Row Distillers, located in Bardstown, Kentucky, has introduced a new cask-finished bourbon to its lineup. This expression features a blend of 4-year-old wheated and rye bourbons, finished in albariño wine barrels for six months. Albariño is a dry white wine from Spain.
Master distiller John Rempe selected this particular wine for its citrusy and acidic notes, which he believed would complement the sweet characteristics of the bourbons.
Bottled at 52.5% (105 proof), it will retail for $60 and will be available exclusively at the distillery starting in March.
