Bomberger’s PFG is a bourbon that undergoes full maturation in new American oak before finishing in custom French fine-grain barrels crafted from 40-month-seasoned staves sourced from forests such as Tronçais, Allier, Nevers, and Vosges.
The nose brings black cherry, molasses, warm cedar, and a touch of leather. The palate is rich and structured, offering caramelized brown sugar, dark chocholate, dried berries, and deeply toasted oak. The finish is long, dry-sweet, and spice-laced, with hints of cocoa and char. A muscular, nostalgic bourbon with remarkable depth.
97Among the whiskies tested in blind tastings and reviews throughout the year, those scoring the best get reselected. These products were then tried once again in a new blind tasting, which means not knowing what they are during the tasting. The only indication on the sample concerns the ABV content: a red mark states that the product has an ABV higher than 50% (100° proof). The test results are then compared, and the TOP 10 is made.
