This is an agricultural rum aged under the tropics in the Guadeloupe distillery located in Petit-Bourg (Basse-Terre). It is matured for 8 years in oak barrels.
Deep and complex to the nose, it delivers rich scents of wood resin, cane juice, marzipan, and raisins, with a touch of chestnut honey. After a little time in the glass, aromas of olives join the bouquet. On the palate, a lot of ripe fruits, almost exotics, are enriched by white pepper, honey, and vegetal notes. Then oak, wax, and hints of cocoa. The finish is long, with pepper, wood notes, and plums.
93Among the rums tested in blind tastings and reviews throughout the year, those scoring the best get reselected. These products were then tried once again in a new blind tasting, which means not knowing what they are during the tasting. The only indication on the sample concerns the ABV content: a red mark states that the product has an ABV higher than 50% (100° proof). The test results are then compared, and the TOP 10 is made.
