Made from an endemic Thai variety of sugarcane, this rum was fermented for thirteen days, distilled in an Armagnac still, finally aged for fourteen months in a Jamaican rum cask.
The olfactory notes start with fresh vesou and balsamic hints, then charcoal and medicinal nuances, finally developing citrus and tropical fruits. In the mouth, vegetal and earthy aromas, sugarcane, ginseng, then roasted plantain and candied ginger, noble spices, and licorice. The finish is long, mineral, goudron, more licorice and floral, smoothed by vanilla and coconut water, with plenty of ripe sugarcane.
94Among the rums tested in blind tastings and reviews throughout the year, those scoring the best get reselected. These products were then tried once again in a new blind tasting, which means not knowing what they are during the tasting. The only indication on the sample concerns the ABV content: a red mark states that the product has an ABV higher than 50% (100° proof). The test results are then compared, and the TOP 10 is made.
