Barrell Bourbon Amburana and Tale of Two Islands

Barrell Craft Spirits released two new bottlings in the brand’s new Cask Finish Series: Amburana and Tale of Two Islands.

The Tale of Two Islands features a blend of Indiana straight bourbons aged 5, 6, and 9 years with Maryland straight bourbon aged 5 and 6 years. The result is then finished in casks from the 2018 Tale of Two Islands Rum, a Jamaican rum released by the brand that was matured in peated Islay single malt barrels. The mash bill equivalent is made of 73% corn, 23% rye, and 4% malted barley. It is bottled at cask strength: 59.11% (118.22 proof).

The Amburana features a blend of Indiana straight bourbons aged 5, 6, 7, and 10 years with Kentucky straight bourbon aged 5 years. The blend was finished in Amburana wood casks before being blended with a vatting of bourbon casks not finished in Amburana wood. The mash bill equivalent is made of 75% corn, 21% rye, 4% malted barley. It is bottled at cask strength: 58.21% (116.42 proof).

Both Barrell Bourbon Amburana and Tale of Two Islands are already available, and they share the same suggested retail price of $89.99.
