The Bruichladdich Distillery has released a trio from The Octomore series, which showcases single malt whiskies that are heavily peated.
Octomore 15.1 features 100% Scottish Concerto malted barley, peated to 108.2 ppm. Distilled in 2018 from the 2017 harvest, it matured for 5 years in first-fill and reused bourbon barrels. Bottled at 59.1% ABV (118.2 proof) without chill-filtration or added color, it is now available for $204.99.
Octomore 15.2 also uses Scottish Concerto barley at 108.2 ppm. It matures in second-fill wine and bourbon casks, finishing in first-fill cognac casks. This 5-year-old whisky is bottled at 57.9% ABV (115.8 proof) and is also available for $244.99.
Octomore 15.3 uses barley grown near the distillery and is peated to 307.2 ppm. Aged for 5 years in first-fill bourbon and oloroso casks, it is bottled at 61.3% ABV (122.6 proof). Available now, its suggested retail price is $279.99.
