The Heaven’s Door Ascension Kentucky Straight Bourbon is the latest addition to the brand’s core collection. This bottling marks the first Kentucky straight bourbon release for the whiskey brand founded by Bob Dylan.
Ascension is a blend of two Kentucky straight bourbon whiskeys — one is the brand’s own distillate produced at Heaven’s Door with a mash bill of 76% corn, 15% rye, 9% malted barley, and the other has a mash bill of 70% corn, 25% rye, and 5% malted barley.
Heaven’s Door Master Blender stated, “for this exceptional Kentucky bourbon, we meticulously blend each small batch to create its distinctive flavor profile. We are excited to add our own Kentucky bourbon to our permanent collection and invite bourbon lovers to compare and contrast it with our award-winning Tennessee bourbon. Both of the Heaven’s Door bourbons feature similar mash bills, are aged for the same amount of time, and bottled at the same proof, but result in two very different bourbon expressions.”
It is non-chill filtered and bottled at 92 proof (46% ABV). The SRP is $54.99.
