Old Forester 1924

The Old Forester 1924 is a limited annual release celebrating another milestone in Old Forester’s storied history. This year’s release is the fifth since its launch.

During Prohibition, more than 200 distilleries were forced to close. Old Forester, however, continued operations because the federal government issued them one of six medicinal licenses, P-3. In 1924, Old Forester acquired barrels from closed distillers, with different mash bills, and bottled that liquid as Old Forester. This release commemorates that moment in time.

This Kentucky straight bourbon uses a different mash bill than Old Forester’s traditional recipe, with a 79% corn, 11% rye, and 10% malted barley.

It is aged for 10 years and bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV). It is already available, with a suggested retail price of $115.
