The Emperor Deep Blue Pape Clément Finish is the result of a blend obtained between pure cane juice rum and molasses rum, then left to rest, between 5 and twelve years, in Pessac-Léognan Grand Cru Classé barrels from Château Pape Clément, . The peculiarity that distinguishes this product, however, is the subsequent refinement. In fact, once bottled, it is placed at a depth of 60 meters off Ushant Island in Brittany (France). In the Atlantic Ocean, at a constant temperature all year round (11-13°C), at a pressure of 7 bars and without the presence of oxygen, the bottles rest for ten months. The trace of this "abysmal" permanence are the concretions present on the bottles. In addition to Château Pape Clément, Emperor Rum also offers the Deep Blue Palo Cortado.
Sweetness, intensity, and esters collaborate to develop a suggestive profile of tropical, marine, and spice scents.
The sip is initially marked by herbal and bitterish notes, licorice, tamarind, and nutmeg, then it turns to more viscous and sweet ones of marron glacé, chestnut honey, and After Eight.
The body is perfectly balanced, and the finish is long and rounded.
Overall, the Emperor Deep Blue Pape Clément Finish offers a sophisticated tasting, thanks to an unusual, unique and exciting flavor profile. All embellished with an ABV congruous with the refinement of the rum. This product took third place in our 2022 Rum Awards.
