The Kilkerran Cask Strength 2021 100% Oloroso Sherry Cask is the version released for 2021. As it was for the 2019 version, also this release is left to mature in Oloroso sherry casks which, however, have not been roasted.
On the nose, cereal biscuits and peaty scents are perceived, followed by smoky notes and red fruit. Malt. Hints of burnt matchstick.
An intense aroma of red fruit is released on the palate, supported by a vein of wood spices, pepper, and an intense peaty note.
Medium-long finish, with vegetal and red fruit notes, accompanied by a peppery spiciness.
Overall, the Kilkerran Cask Strength 2021 100% Oloroso Sherry Cask is an intense Scotch, with a flavor profile that, although not being particularly deep, is fairly broad.
