The Sir Davis American Whisky is a collaboration between Beyoncé Knowles-Carter and Moët Hennessy. They chose Dr. Bill Lumsden, the Director of Distilling for both Glenmorangie and Ardbeg Scotch whiskies, to lead the whisky’s creation. Sir Davis is named in honor of Davis Hogue, Knowles-Carter’s paternal great-grandfather, who was a farmer and a moonshiner in the American South during Prohibition.
The whisky is distilled in Indiana using a mash bill of 51% rye and 49% malted barley. It then undergoes maturation in Texas, where it is finished in sherry casks. The No-Age-Statement whisky is bottled at 44% ABV (88 proof), Sir Davis is now available at retailers across the U.S., as well as in select airports (JFK, LAX, SFO) and stores in London, Paris, and Tokyo. The suggested retail price is $89.
