The Glenmorangie Bacalta has been released back in early 2017. It was the first bottling for the brand to be finished in Malmsey Madeira casks.
Sweet and refined, it develops honey and spices (acacia honey and white pepper). It reveals notes of wood and cocoa, that are followed by rich hints of fruits and malt.
Round and smooth. This Scotch whisky delivers notes of wood and dark chocolate, together with cloves and hints of fruit (mainly red apple). A suave note of brioches is the last one to emerge.
Medium persistency. Spices (white pepper and chili), fruits and hints of honey.
Overall, the Glenmorangie Bacalta is an extremely easy to appreciate Scotch whisky. It is delicate and refined, as well as incredibly balanced.
