The great estate in Sainte-Marie came up with an AOC Martinique aged for 15 years in French oak casks and completed in cuvée for two more years before being marketed as a limited edition of 2100 bottles.
On the nose, wood spices, varnish, marasca cherry, licorice, and balsamic herbs, with an intense note of blackcurrant jam. The palate is warm, dry, intense: there are plums, exotic fruit, and cacao scents. The finish is long with notes of mountain pine, more wood spices, juniper, raisin, and candied red oranges.
95Among the rums tested in blind tastings and reviews throughout the year, those scoring the best get reselected. These products were then tried once again in a new blind tasting, which means not knowing what they are during the tasting. The only indication on the sample concerns the ABV content: a red mark states that the product has an ABV higher than 50% (100° proof). The test results are then compared, and the TOP 10 is made.
