Glen Scotia 2015-2021 1st fill bourbon barrel 871 is a non-peated whisky from the Campbeltown distillery, presented in June 2021 along with six other bottling from single barrels; in this case this Bourbon Barrel of first filling gave rise to only 257 bottles.
Very creamy, with baked apple hints and strudel from the beginning. At times the apple becomes fresher, reminiscent of the fruit in its yellow version (Golden). Pastry and icing sugar, then tartlet with custard, apple and vanilla. A drizzle of acidity (pineapple and very light lemon). Fragrant.
Well-managed alcohol. The creaminess and white pepper dominate, leaving then room for the yellow apple again. Still strudel, because it is just more spicy than the tartlet and with a soft and light, yet pleasant raisin. Just a drop of lemon.
Short, clean, fresh, to prepare another sip given the limited persistence
