The Navy Island Jamaica Navy Strength is made from a blend of 11 rums distilled in pot-still. It is a cask strength product, created taking inspiration from the great tradition of British Navy Rum.
Scents of tropical fruits such as mango, plantain, and gooseberries. After a little time in the glass, greasy notes of shoe polish and beeswax develop, followed by a fermented hint of cane juice and olive brine.
Intense, warm, bitter, initially dominated by hints of bacon, cayenne pepper, and pepper, then reveals a softer and sweeter character with notes of pastry.
The finish is peppery, toasty, and meaty, with hints of salted caramel sweets that fill the palate.
Overall, Navy Island Jamaica Navy Strength is an excellent interpretation of the classic Navy Rum style in the most authentic version of Jamaican rum. Direct and without frills, it releases a prolonged persistence. Very fulfilling.
