Port Charlotte Islay Barley 2014 is Bruichladdich’s peated single malt (40ppm), obtained exclusively with barley malt grown on Islay. For the 2014 vintage, barley was grown on eight plantations, all located within a 15-mile radius of the distillery.
The distillate obtained is then left to age for a minimum of 7 years, mainly in first-fill bourbon barrels (84%), with second-fill virgin oak and second-fill Bordeaux wine barrels. It is bottled at 50% alcohol without cold filtration.
It is already available on the market these days. It will also be distributed in the US and offered for sale at a suggested price of $ 84.99.
