Pogues Irish Whiskey is a whiskey crafted by the West Cork Distillers, founded in 2003, dedicated to the homonymous Irish folk band of the '80s and '90s. The spirit is obtained by a mix of 50% Irish single malt and 50% single grain.
Light and delicate, dry at moments, with a core of unripe pear, fresh barley, a basic note of vanilla and very light caramel. Some creaminess.
Probably the best aspect, with a marked creamy mouthfeel, butter biscuits and some nuts, along with the return of the pear, here a touch riper.
Quite short, clean, not an unforgettable experience.
Pogues Irish Whiskey is a very easy to drink, easy to approach release, a good intro to Irish whiskey, which helps the mouthfeel with a generous quota of grain.
