Torabhaig, established in 2017, is the newest distillery on the Isle of Skye, joining Talisker. The Legacy Series features yearly releases that showcase the distillery’s evolution toward a flagship 10-year-old expression. Each release highlights distinct characteristics of experimental cask usage.
This year’s offering, Sound of Sleat, returns to American white oak, primarily using bourbon barrels, similar to earlier releases like Alt Gleann. However, it also includes virgin white oak barrels, a trend seen in other recent scotch expressions. A total of 45,000 bottles were released globally. It is bottled at an ABV of 46% and retails for $60 per bottle.
