This blend is 90% made from cane honey (the more delicate and aromatic state that precedes the crystallization of sugars in molasses) and aged for 12 years in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks.
The nose offers honey, toffee, and raisins, along with seasoned wood and vanilla scents, a hint of orange zest. The sip is dominated by wood, honey, and vanilla surrounded by a bouquet of sweet spices. The finish is average with herbal and tobacco hints. Round, velvety, and of great harmony.
92Among the rums tested in blind tastings and reviews throughout the year, those scoring the best get reselected. These products were then tried once again in a new blind tasting, which means not knowing what they are during the tasting. The only indication on the sample concerns the ABV content: a red mark states that the product has an ABV higher than 50% (100° proof). The test results are then compared, and the TOP 10 is made.
