Blue Run Spirits announced Reflection II. It is a small-batch Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey.
Whiskey Director Shaylyn Gammon is looking to continue the tradition while emphasizing a different layer of flavor notes than its predecessor. The brand stated “while Reflection I focused on the darker base notes like oak and caramel, Reflection II zeroes in on the brighter middle notes, including florals and sweetness. Reflection II also features older whiskey stocks than its predecessor, with Gammon seeking out barrels that clearly exhibited elevated mid-note flavors from Blue Run’s more than 5,000-barrel inventory.”
For Reflection II, some of the first Reflection release was used as a base, but the dominant mash bill uses less rye than the original. Additionally, older stocks of whiskey were used, and the proof here increased to 100 (50% ABV), the previous version was 95 proof (47.5% ABV).
