Buffalo Trace Experimental Collection Peated Bourbon

Buffalo Trace Experimental Collection Peated Bourbon is part of the “Experimental Collection” line, a limited edition now in its 26th release, whose first release dates back to 2006.

With the Experimental Collection, the distillery has been experimenting with recipes and finishes for over two decades through an ever-changing use of different mash bills, types of wood, toasting of the barrels, and much more. Currently, more than 30,000 experimental casks are resting in Buffalo Trace warehouses.

For this version, a Kentucky straight bourbon was chosen; however, obtained by replacing the malted barley with smoked peated malt in the classic mash bill. The distillate thus obtained was left to rest for ten years in new and charred American oak barrels, bottled at 90 proof (45% ABV).

As already written, this is a limited edition available in 375ml bottles at a suggested price of $46.99.
