Johnnie Walker Debuts High Rye Blended Scotch Whisky

Johnnie Walker has released a first for the brand, a High Rye blended Scotch whisky. The new offering was the works of Johnnie Walker Master Blender, Jim Beveridge, and Johnnie Walker Whisky Specialist, George Harper. The bottling shows the current trend of rye through scotch whisky brands. The whisky used for the High Rye has a mash bill of 60% rye that was aged in American oak barrels. The blended Scotch whisky also includes some single malts into the blend. They included single malts from Cardhu, Glenkinchie and Caol Ila. The rye and grain whiskies were distilled in the Cameronbridge and Teaninich distilleries.

Johnnie Walker High Rye Blended Scotch Whisky is bottled at 90 proof (45% ABV). Johnnie Walker High Rye will be available beginning in November 2021. The 750-ml bottle has an MSRP of $34.99.
