Johnnie Walker unveils Blue Label Ghost and Rare Pittyvaich

Johnnie Walker unveiled the new limited release bottling Blue Label Ghost and Rare Pittyvaich. This edition uses whisky coming from the Speyside distillery of Pittyvaich (which remained active for 18 years only, closing the doors back in 1993). Also, this is the fourth release in the series, following Johnnie Walker Blue Label Ghost and Rare Brora (2017), Johnnie Walker Blue Label Ghost and Rare Port Ellen (2018), and Johnnie Walker Blue Label Ghost and Rare Glenury Royal (2019).

Johnnie Walker master blender Jim Beveridge said: “We have waited patiently for the perfect moment to showcase this rare gem of the whisky world. Pittyvaich may only have thrived for a short period, but the whisky laid down by this distillery is something unmistakable. Its distinct autumnal character has always intrigued us and fired our imagination to create something really special that would pay tribute to the whisky makers of this Speyside distillery.”

The Johnnie Walker Blue Label Ghost and Rare Pittyvaich is bottled at 43.8% ABV (87.6 proof). The whisky will be available starting from November 1st and the retails price will be £275 (around $375 or €325).
