Laphroaig Distillery has announced the third installment in their Ian Hunter Series. The latest release is called “Book Three: Source Protector.” The Ian Hunter Story series will consist of five annual releases, that all honor the famous early 20th century Laphroaig Distillery manager. Ian Hunter: Book Three is a tribute to the commitment Hunter had in preserving the Kilbride Stream, and its environs. He is credited for overseeing the distillery’s conversion to steam energy as the main way of preserving the Laphroaig’s water source.
The Laphroaig Ian Hunter Series Book Three: Source Protector bottling is a 33-year-old non-chill-filtered single malt whisky. Whiskey was fully matured in ex-bourbon barrels. The limited-edition whisky is bottled at 99.8 proof (49.9% ABV). The 750-ml size bottle will have an MSRP of $1,250 per bottle. Bottles will be available at select specialty retailers.
