Kamiki Drinks just launched the OakPacker American Single Malt Whisky, the world’s first air-harvested water-fused whisky. The water is, in fact, collected from the air, minimizing the use of traditional water sources and used to lower the ABV.
It is aged in American Oak barrels and it celebrates the squirrels also on its website, acknowledging their role, which ensures the on-going supply of oak trees for the barrels by burying acorns as part of their natural behavior.
Kamiki Drinks Global Sales Director Serdar Pala stated “OakPacker is committed to producing the finest American single malt whiskey in an environment-friendly manner and without compromise. Our innovative air-harvesting process is a world-first and just one example of our quest for purity and earth-friendly whisky-making. Water quality is a critical component, together with the whisky and barrels it is matured in.”
It is bottled at 46% (92 proof), and it is non-chill filtered. OakPacker will initially be available in the US domestic market from this month and rolled out into travel retail and other international markets later this year.
