Old Elk releases three products in the Cask Finish line

Two years after the first release (2021), also for this year Old Elk releases three references for the Cask finish series: Rum Cask Finished Rye, Port Cask Finish, Cognac Cask Finish.

The first of the three is made with rye whiskey (95% rye, 5% barley malt) aged for a minimum of five years, which is then transferred, for a period varying between two and five months, in ex-14 year old Barbados rum barrels. Although the Cask Finish series has been active, as already reported, since 2021, this is the first Rye whiskey released for this line.
Bottled at 101 proof (50.5% ABV), this is the only product of the three that is only available for a limited time.

Very similar to each other, however, the Port Cask Finish and the Cognac Cask Finish. Both start with a base bourbon, made from a mash bill of 51% corn, 34% malted barley and 15% rye, aged for a minimum of five years. The bourbon is then transferred to the Port barrels for a period of time ranging from 10 months to a year, while the Cognac Cask for a period of ten months.
The Port Cask Finish Bourbon is bottled at 108.1 proof (54.05% ABV) while the Cognac Cask Finish Bourbon is bottled at 109.7 proof (approx. 54.85% ABV).

All three products are available now in the US at an MSRP of $99.99.
