Old Forester 117 Series: Whiskey Row Fire Bourbon

The Old Forester 117 Series: Whiskey Row Fire Bourbon is a new limited release, commercialized as usual in 375 ml bottles. It is a Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey.

The 117 series was launched in 2021. The company stated: “the 117 Series offers a deep dive, or deconstruction, on how either the individual Old Forester Whiskey Row Series expressions are crafted or highlights other historical moments of Old Forester’s history on W. Main Street.”

It pays homage to a critical moment in the distillery’s history, when back in 2015 the newly constructed downtown Louisville distillery was almost destroyed by a fire. The Louisville Fire Department arrived in time to avoid the big loss. 7 years later, members of the fire department were called to choose barrels filled back in that year, that were then used for the 117 Series Whiskey Row Fire Bourbon release.

Bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV), it has an MSRP of $60.
