TASTING NOTES ARDBEG SUPERNOVA 2009

Nose

we mainly perceive the peat, along with a relevant smoky vein, almost irksome. Followed by chemical notes of gasoline and a touch of saffron.

Palate

the mouth feel is salty, it is almost excessive. Soave medicinal notes and licorice are perceived, but the real protagonist is peat.

Finale

long persistence and very intense. The Ardbeg Supernova is a partially successful experiment. The remaining flavor profile is quite contained and is overwhelmed by the peated notes. The high gradation gives rise to a remarkable intensity.
