Blanton's Straight from the Barrel is a product from Buffalo Trace Distillery, located in Frankfort, Kentucky. The name of this bourbon is associated to Colonel Albert Bacon Blanton, who started in the company as clerk in 1897 and became president in 1921, passing away in 1959, after spending 55 years of his carrier serving the community with the objective of creating the best possible bourbon.
A very complex and deep nose; there are some dark roasted notes of deeply charred oak, chestnut honey, with nuts and leather, even very dark cocoa nibs. Powerful and very evocative, different from standard products, unique.
A powerful confirmation, warm and very long lasting. The oakiness is still important, however is not astringent and the alcohol is very well balanced, despite the high ABV. Still on chocolate, rich vanilla, leather and buttery pancakes.
Extremely long, warm and seductive, with dark notes of chestnuts honey and leather.
Blanton's Straight from the Barrel is just a masterpiece of a bourbon. The palette is extremely wide and the alcohol incredibly silent for this ABV. Powerful, bold, evocative and very, very nice.
