EH Taylor Four Grain is a bourbon distilled at Buffalo Trace, Kentucky, USA. The brand is inspired by Colonel Edmund Haynes Taylor, Jr., who after the American Civil War decided to restart with a new business, buying a small distillery located near the Kentucky River. The "Four Grain" is born from the combination of wheat, rye, wheat or barley. It is bottled after being left to rest for 12 years.
Incredibly rich, with intense aromas of ripe fruit and vanilla. There is also a note of caramel. Lastly, rhubarb is perceived.
At the first sip it is sweet. Spicy notes are released gradually more intense, which are enriched by caramel, ripe fruit and a touch of orange (bitter). Then a mix of cocoa and leather.
Long persistence. Intense peppery notes, together with a distinct note of orange jam. Spicy.
Overall, the EH Taylor Four Grain is an excellent bourbon. Rich and satisfying, it is well structured and endowed with a wide aromatic bouquet.
