TASTING NOTES - ELIXIR DISTILLERS BUNNAHABHAIN MOINE 2011 10YO ARTIST #15 SOMETHING IN THE WATER

Nose

Fresh and costal, mineral, yet with a great lemon dimension. The typical animal peat side of the distillery is here less intense, more refined and elegant, fruitier, yet intense and nice. A nice day in front of the ocean, with many evocative sensations.

Palate

Quite intense, also thanks to a nicely chosen ABV. The aromas identified at the nose are confirmed, however here the peat is slightly more intense and the salty touch a little more on he brine side. A nice extra touch of character.

Finish

Medium-long, fresh sea breeze sensations with touch of peat and a light fruity distant hint.

Elixir Distillers Bunnahabhain Moine 2011 10 yo Artist #15 Something in the Water is an excellent example on how this distillery can be animal, intense and rustic in some bottlings, while refined and elegant, centered on sea wind and waves, iodine, on others. An elegant malt, and example of young, yet quality Islay spirits.
