Nose

sweet and fruity. It delivers aromas of orange jam, honey and molasses. Then it turns to aromas of ripe banana. Delicate.

Palate

it is particularly sweet. Caramel, brown sugar and honey, followed by raisins and ripe peach. Lastly, wood notes.

Finish

medium persistence. It develops notes of black tea and orange jam. Sweet.

Overall, the Frèdèric Mestreau VSOP is a very easy to appreciate cognac, more on the sweet side. Far from a meditative cognac, it can be considered a decent entry-level product.
