Glendalough Double Barrel is release belonging to the core range of the Irish distillery.
Nice, open and velvety. Roundness is the first, nice impression, of a good marriage among the different types of casks involved. The grain core adds to the sweet, polished and smooth sensations. Then it comes the dry Oloroso sensations, toasted oak, chocolate and some nutty cherries, flanked by butterscotch and peanut butter.
Easy to drink, thanks to the low ABV, yet flavorful and balanced. Again cherries, nuts, rich and warm butterscotch and a generous pinch of Demerara sugar.
Medium-short, yet clean and pleasant.
Glendalough Double Barrel is overall a small miracle of balance and sweetness, a rounded and warm spirit which provides nice, varied aromas. Incredible value for the price.
