As the name suggests, the Jura Seven Wood is a whisky that goes through quite a lot of caks. As it happens for all the Jura Jura Signature Series, the spirit is matured in ex-Bourbon American white oak barrels, and after this first maturation it is transferred to seven different French oak barrels.
Nail polish, wood, and sweetish aromas are delivered. It is fresh and floral.
Quite flat. There are notes of wood and cocoa. The base is sweet.
Medium short persistence. Wood is confirmed, now accompanied by a touch of spices (mainly white pepper).
Overall, the Jura Seven Wood is limited in terms of flavor profile and complexity. It is rather easy to appreciate, but not a whisky to go for if you're looking for something capable of attract your attention.
