Larceny Kentucky Straight Bourbon Small Batch is a release from the brand belonging to Heaven Hill Distillery. Its origins are associated to the history of one of the more colorful characters in whiskey, John E. Fitzgerald and the Old Fitzgerald brand. In this product wheat is used as the secondary grain in the mashbill in place of rye. Only a limited number of barrels from specific floor locations in the rickhouse are used to create this release.
Soft and clean, velvety. Beyond the very mild alcohol note with some acetone light touches, a nice yellow orange with creamy vanilla can be perceived, with custard and crème brulee. Butterscotch with a touch of marzipan and mellow, sweet oakiness and wood spices.
Sip is convincing and again creamy and mellow, enveloping the palate with notes of vanilla, fine orange, and light unburnt caramel. Spiciness is very mild and sweet. Some flowers honey. Alcohol is very well chosen.
Medium duration, again rich honeyed in taste while softly suadent and refined.
