The Plantation 2002 Jamaica is a rum featuring a double aging. It begins with a maturation in bourbon barrels that lasts 10 years and takes place in Jamaica. Then, the rum is brought to France, where it spends 3 more years in barrels that previously contained cognac (350 liter barrels). Distilled in 2002, it was then bottled in 2016.

TASTING NOTES – PLANTATION 2002 JAMAICA

Nose

Intense and harmonious. It develops molasses and cinnamon notes, accompanied by spices, among which the black pepper is the richest one. Fruity hints complete the nosing

Palate

Very spicy to the palate, this Jamaican rum delivers a mix of paprika and black pepper. It results slightly sweet, and it exhibits also fruity notes, among those melon and yellow peach stand out, together with hints of red fruit.

Finish

Long persistence. It is peppery and mellow, with hints of sugar cane. Remarkable.

Overall, the Plantation 2002 Jamaica is a rum that is endowed with a good harmony. It is also equipped with a good intensity, although the alcohol content is not particularly hight.
