Six Saints is a rum brand from Grenada, produced at the Grenada Distillers distillery and named after the six parishes, each with its own church, that give the island its "saints". This Six Saints Grenada Oloroso is a column-distilled molasses rum matured in ex-bourbon American oak for around four years, then finished for a further six months in Oloroso sherry casks.
On the nose, it shows mineral and sulphur notes alongside molasses. After a few moments in the glass, some floral shades emerge, followed by vanilla pod.
On the palate, it brings notes of toffee, caramel and seasoned wood, with spice and hints of white pepper leading into ripe fruit. The vanilla pod carries through here as well.
Medium persistence, closing on vanilla, spice and wood.
Overall, the Six Saints Grenada Oloroso is simple to appreciate and shows a fair degree of aromatic intensity. It is not particularly structured.
