Stonewood Woaz is a release from The Bavarian distillery nearby Steinwald Naturpark conservation area, and it is named after the Bavarian word for wheat. It is fermented with weissbier yeast.
Disturbing and very alcoholic. Even after some times it is not simple to go beyond an acetone sensation. When it is possible, it seems very simple, young and rough cereal-forward sensations are provided, with menthol/herbal notes, candied fruit and chemical vanilla. New make hints. After some time, some light litchee and white fruit comes through, definitely too late.
Slightly better than the nose, yet aggressive and muscular. Again some herbal sensations, however here the methol and balsamic hints are slightly less alcoholic, yet pungent and not truly mellow. The medium intensity sweetness help mitigating the roughness.
Medium, not completely pleasant, rough cereals and some wild green spices.
Stonewood Woaz is not a fully successful product, with an ABV giving a strong alcoholic punch at the nose, and aggressive cereal-forward profile. A muscular, yet not truly pleasant and smooth profile.
