The Lakes Whiskymaker's Reserve Equinox is a tribute to the astronomical phenomenon when the plane of Earth's equator passes through the center of the Sun, and in particular to the Autumnal Equinox occurring in September, which hails the end of summer and the dawn of a new season. This single malt has been created by Whisky Maker Sarah Burgess to reproduce the typical sensation of the transition between summer and autumn.
Golden and intense, vibrant, very elegant. The fruity dimension is multi-faceted and ripe, with golden plums, apricots, peaches, yellow apples and sultanas, with some brown sugar on top. Some sweet spices are also given on top, with medium complexity. Sweet, juicy, a true wonder.
A true masterpiece: it is sweet, mellow and suadent, at moments irresistible. Orange flowers and a complete basket of stone fruit with sweet spices and a touch of refreshing citrus hint. Complex and excellent.
Medium-long, with a slightly more bitter touch compared to the golden sweet nose and palate, yet again armonious.
The Lakes Whiskymaker's Reserve Equinox is an excellent product capable, with its complex profile of stone fruit and sweet spices, of recreating the desired sensations of summer fading into autumn. A true confirmation of the great potentialities of this distillery.
