The Rhum J.M Terroir Volcanique is a vieux agricole, made starting from a fresh sugar cane distillate, in particular by combining rums aged for at least three years in new American oak barrels made by the distillery itself.
With particular reference to the latter, the interior has been subjected to a marked roasting, including a “deep alligator,” with the intention of giving the distillate a peated imprint that recalls the volcanic terroir. It is then bottled at 43% ABV.
