The Teeling Wonders of Wood Virgin Portuguese Oak is the second edition of the series that features a series of innovative limited edition bottlings using unique styles of wood for the maturation. For this second releases, the whiskey is fully matured in Virgin Portuguese Oak casks. Portuguese oak is native to the Iberian Peninsula and has a higher tannin content than other oak variants normally used in the whiskey industry.
It is a single pot still whiskey made with 50% malted barley and 50% unmalted barely. As usual, it is triple distilled.
Like previous Wonders of Wood editions, this bottling will facilitate work with the Tree Council of Ireland in the reforestation of designated woodlands with native Irish trees.
It is bottled at 50% ABV (100 proof). The SRP is $99.99.
