The Balvenie Tun 1509 Batch 8

The Balvenie has announced the release of the Tun 1509 Batch 8. This will be the final bottling in the Tun 1509 series. The series features the brands most treasured aged selections. Malt Master David C. Stewart MBE (Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) selected 18 of the distillery’s finest and most rare casks, and then married them in the Tun 1509. The Tun is a large oak vessel that allows all of the casks to be married together. The Tun 1509 is located inside the distillery’s Warehouse 24. The Tun 1509 Batch 8 is a non-chill-filtered whisky, and was left to marry for three months.

Each bottle of The Balvenie Tun 1509 Batch 8 comes with a plethora of information on the whisky. This includes a breakdown of each of the casks used for the batch. There is a chart and visual representations of the flavor profile of each individual cask that make up the batch. The Balvenie Tun 1509 Batch 8 is bottled at 104.4 proof (52.2% ABV). Each bottle has an MSRP of $410. Batch 8 is available in limited quantities. Availability in the U.S. begins October 2021.
