Bushmills 30 Year The Rare Casks Madeira Cask

This latest release from Bushmills is the third in the ‘The Rare Casks’ series, premiered in 2020. It is also the second release from master distiller Alex Thomas.

This single malt was made, for its entirety, with unpeated Irish barley malt and then subjected to a triple distillation (which took place in 1991). After distillation it was left to mature for 13 years and 4 months in ex bourbon and ex sherry casks. Subsequently, in 2005, the distillates were combined and placed back in ex Madeira barrels for the last period of refinement.

It is bottled without cold filtration at 49% ABV. Starting last December, it is available for pre-order at a suggested price of $999.99.
