The New Riff Sour Mash Single Malt is a new bottling that will become an annual release in the brand’s portfolio. It is a Sour Mash Single Malt and every year some slight variations should be expected.
New Riff has six different mash bill recipes available: four mash bills with 100% barley varietals and two beer-inspired mash bills. Also, different cask types will be used in the process: new charred oak, de-charred toasted oak, red wine casks, Portuguese brandy casks, and others.
This year’s release was distilled in 2014-16 with the whiskey being around 7-8 years old. Five mash bill recipes were used.
It is bottled at 55% ABV (110 proof) without chill-filtration.
It is already available, with a suggested retail price of $69.99.
