A.H. Riise Non Plus Ultra La Galante

A.H. Riise traces its name to Albert Heinrich Riise, the Danish pharmacist who set up shop on St. Thomas in the then-Danish West Indies in 1838 and turned his still to rum. Non Plus Ultra, Latin for "nothing beyond", is the top tier of the house, and La Galante is its limited flagship: a blend hand-assembled by the master distiller from aged West Indian and Central American rums, then bottled in a faceted decanter. Launched in autumn 2022, it takes its name from Santa Maria La Galante, the ship Columbus is said to have sailed when he reached St. Croix, and nods to Riise's original "Old St. Croix" label. Each batch is capped at fewer than 2,000 individually numbered bottles.
